Brian Westbrook Says Former Eagles EVP Joe Banner is to Blame for McNabb/T.O. Rift
Eagles great Brian Westbrook was in studio for the latest episode of Surf & Turf and when talking about the mid-2000s Eagles demise, he pointed the finger squarely at former Eagles Executive Vice President Joe Banner. After a huge year in 2004 which had the Birds come up three points short in the Super Bowl, Terrell Owens was looking for a new contract and went to Donovan McNabb for support. Banner did not want to re-do T.O.’s contract with too many years remaining on it and T.O. looked to Donovan for support. McNabb felt that wasn’t his area to speak up and the rest is history.
